How to make a CV for teaching
A teacher CV is judged fast: heads of department want to see the subject you teach, your qualification, and proof you can run a classroom — near the top. Fill the builder above in this order and you have a solid one to two page teacher CV template that works for schools, colleges, and academies:
- 1. Header — name, subject/level (e.g. “Secondary Mathematics Teacher”), phone, email, city.
- 2. Objective — two or three lines naming your subject, level, and what you want next (see examples below).
- 3. Education & qualifications — degree, B.Ed/M.Ed, and any teaching licence or certification.
- 4. Teaching experience — school, role, dates, then bullet points with real results (exam pass rates, class sizes, clubs run).
- 5. Teaching skills — classroom management, lesson planning, assessment, the tools you use.
- 6. References — a head teacher or senior colleague who can vouch for you.
Name the boards or curricula you have taught (Matric/Intermediate, O/A Levels, Cambridge, Federal Board) — it is one of the first things a Pakistani school looks for.
Teacher CV objective (with examples)
Your teacher CV objective — some people call it a teacher resume objective — is the first thing read after your name. Keep it to two or three honest lines: name your subject and level, one strength, and the role you are after. Skip empty lines like “dedicated teacher seeking a challenging position”; every applicant writes them.
Example — primary teacher
“Primary school teacher with 4 years teaching Grades 1–5, strong in phonics-based English and activity-led Maths. Looking for a class teacher role in a school that values hands-on learning.”
Example — subject teacher
“Secondary Mathematics teacher (B.Ed) with a 90%+ Matric pass rate over three years. Seeking a senior Maths post where I can also mentor junior staff and run exam-prep sessions.”
Example — English teacher
“English teacher with O/A Level experience and a focus on writing and spoken fluency. Looking to join a Cambridge school and lead the debating society.”
Teaching skills to put on your CV
List teaching skills the school actually screens for — mix real classroom ability with the tools you use. Pick the ones true for you rather than copying the whole list:
Classroom skills
- • Lesson planning & curriculum design
- • Classroom management
- • Assessment & exam preparation
- • Differentiated instruction
- • Parent-teacher communication
Tools & extras
- • Google Classroom / MS Teams
- • Smart-board & digital lessons
- • Report cards & result analysis
- • Club / society supervision
- • Subjects & boards taught
CV for teaching jobs in Pakistan
Teaching jobs in Pakistan — private schools, the Punjab Educators (PPSC) posts, NTS-tested roles, and PEF schools — expect a few extra things on a CV that Western templates leave out:
- • Qualification clearly stated — B.A/B.Sc plus B.Ed, or M.A/M.Ed, and any CT/PTC where relevant.
- • Subjects and boards — the exact subjects and boards you can teach (Matric/Inter, O/A Level, Federal Board).
- • NTS / PPSC test scores — if you have sat an Educators or NTS test, add the score.
- • CNIC, domicile, and a photo — expected for government and most local school applications; skip them only for international schools that ask you not to.
Use the Pakistan template in the builder for a formal photo-CV, or Classic for a clean single-column CV an international school’s system can read easily.

FAQ
Teacher CV questions
What should a teacher CV include?
A teacher CV should include your name and subject/level, a short objective, education and teaching qualifications (B.Ed/M.Ed), teaching experience with real results, a teaching skills section, and references. Name the subjects and boards you can teach. Keep it to one or two pages.
How do I write a teacher CV objective?
Keep the objective to two or three lines. Name your subject and level, one concrete strength (like an exam pass rate), and the role you want. For example: “Secondary Mathematics teacher with a 90%+ Matric pass rate, seeking a senior post to mentor junior staff.” Avoid generic phrases.
What skills should a teacher put on a CV?
Mix real classroom skills — lesson planning, classroom management, assessment and exam preparation, differentiated instruction — with tools like Google Classroom or smart-board lessons. Only list skills that are genuinely true for you, and match them to what the job ad asks for.
How do I make a CV for a teaching job in Pakistan?
State your qualification clearly (B.Ed, M.Ed, CT/PTC), the subjects and boards you can teach, and any NTS or PPSC Educators test score. Government and most local school CVs expect CNIC, domicile, and a photo — use the Pakistan template for that. For international schools, use a clean single-column template and skip the photo.
