How WiFi QR codes work

The QR code contains your network name, password, and security type in a special format. When scanned, the phone offers to connect automatically — no manual typing needed.

Which phones support it?

  • iPhone: iOS 11+ (2017 onwards)
  • Android: Android 10+ with camera app
  • Older phones need a QR scanner app

Your password is encoded directly in the QR — we never see it.

Customise

PNG, JPG, SVG, and copy use this pixel size. Live preview stays the same while editing.

Square logos work best. We use higher error correction when a logo is present.

FAQ

WiFi QR code questions

Is my WiFi password stored on your servers? +

No. Your password never leaves your browser. The QR code is generated entirely on your device using JavaScript. We don't see, transmit, or store anything you enter.

Will this work on all phones? +

Most modern phones support WiFi QR codes natively: iPhone (iOS 11+) and Android (10+). Older devices may need a QR scanner app from the app store.

What security type should I choose? +

Most home and office networks use WPA/WPA2/WPA3. If you're unsure, check your router settings. WEP is an older, less secure standard. Choose "No password" only for open networks.

Can I print the QR code? +

Yes. Download the SVG version for print materials — it scales to any size without losing quality. PNG works for screens and casual printing.

What if I change my WiFi password? +

You'll need to generate a new QR code with the updated password. The old QR will no longer work since the password is encoded directly in the image.

Is this free? +

Yes — completely free, no signup, no watermarks, no limits. We make money from non-intrusive ads.
